I love roller coasters, but I've always feared this would happen to me while on one. Oh, and can you imagine the headache you'd have afterward???
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Rescue crews have removed the last person stranded on a roller coaster ride at the Great America Theme Park in Santa Clara.
San Jose Fire Capt. Scott Kouns says the last of 24 people stranded on the park's Invertigo Roller Coaster rider were taken off the disabled ride a little before 6:00 p.m. Monday.
The riders had be lowered one at a time into buckets at the end of aerial ladders after the roller coaster came to a stop shortly before 2 p.m. Monday.
All of the passengers were strapped into the ride and were right side up as they awaited being taken off the ride.
Authorities say there were no injuries.
A person who answered the phone at Great America said no one was available to comment.

I love Invertigo!!!
1Man I haven't been to Great America in a while.
2I don't think I could stand being upside down for HOURS. I like the blood evenly distributed throughout my body.
3They were right side up! But yeah, if they were on an upside down part of that ride that would SUCK.
4I think if a roller coast got stuck while I was on it, I'd just start waiting for my car to plummet to the ground... cause I just to worse case scenario immediately. I'd just be waiting to go SPLAT!
5Oh I'm sure it was scary!
I'd be crapping myself too.
6I am not a big roller coaster fan...or I should say...as I get older I become less of a roller coaster fan. Last time I was on one I got off of it with enough bumps and bruises that I looked like a accident victim. Perhaps I am delicate? Nawwww...I am a whimp.
7Top Thrill Dragster (at Cedar Point) always malfunctions. I think it is just not aerodynamically sound or something. It has a really strong launch mechanism that just shoots you up a hill then you come barreling down. Sometimes it doesn't make it all of the way up the hill, though. I guess it's not really a safety issue because no one has ever been hurt, but my heart would skip a beat if I almost made it over the hill and then started to go backwards!
(Also, I don't ride it because you literally can't put your arms up or they will break because it goes so quickly. I have no need for that kind of speed.)
8This is why I do not ride roller coasters. Well this and my debilitating fear of heights.
9I thought at first this was a special roller coaster for disabled people (like maybe one you could put a wheelchair on?) and I was very confused.
10This happened right across the bay from me. Never been to Great America but I'm a huge 6-flags Valencia Ca. fan. I've been going there since I was 5yrs old and it's where I road my first roller coaster.
The local news said that the ride in question was inspected that morning and passed so they were baffled as to the cause.
