I think it is nice that he is taking the time to make these videos for different religions. I wonder if we can expect a Merry Christmas video for those of us who worship Santa Claus.
This is not the time of the year to lecture us. He says this with no joy in his voice or face and after all he has said and done to Israel, comes across as just a guy reading a script.
While I don't like his stance towards Israel, either, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I think he gave the message sincerely.
why should he have much emotion in his voice? rosh hashanah is a serious holiday. it would have been tacky of him to be like "L'shanah tova to my jews!!!!!!!!!!!" i'm not sure what you're
looking for from him.
gw also did rosh hashanah messages. i think it's nice that the presidents do this.
even though it's an obvious pr stunt.
Rosh Hashana is a joyous holiday. Yom Kippur is a serious one. It is a time for families to be together and celebrate. It is not a time for lectures. With his stance toward the faith and
Israel I think he just going through the motions. Em the party hat crack was a bit much, the holiday is not like Dec. 31st.
To those who begin the holiday tonight blessings for the New Year. L'Shana Tovah.
listen to gw's rosh hashanah messages. he just ooozes with emotion. haha
i look at rosh hashanah as a joyous, but serious holiday. on rosh hashanah, i look ahead to the new year and think about what changes i will be making in the upcoming year. on new year's eve,
i just get drunk.
I'm not knocking Rosh Hashanah or Jewish people at all--I'm just saying I thought he did a good job conveying the message. That's all. I also know that it's nothing like New Year's Eve to the
rest of the world.
I liked you other comment em1282. As I said, Obama doesn't overdo it. He does these greetings and other messages to different countries and religions just right. Pres. Obama just looks and
sounds pleasant. He doesn't sound forceful or like someone had made him do it.
L'shanah tovah!

3I liked the message, Sam.

4I didn't expect him to convey the message while blowing into a noisemaker and wearing a party hat, so I liked the message.
5shana tova!

Me too, Kas!
7I agree with you two *amybdk*
This is nice of Obama do to for other countries and religions.

Funny Em1282
and so true. Obama does his messages just right in my opinion. He
doesn't overdo it.

10Sam, we will need to agree to disagree about his intentions on this one!
L'shana tovah!
11You just don't want that book to close with stoning or something. When I read those, I am like, what no being hit by a car.
