Bastille Day, as you call it, or "le 14 juillet", as we call it, is tomorrow. Paris is getting ready for the military parade, the Eiffel tower is bracing itself for the fireworks, and everyone loves the idea of having a day off !
Following the example of Starangel82, I prepared a quizz about the French revolution to celebrate this beautiful time when people decided that "the ignorance, neglect, or contempt of the rights of man are the sole cause of public calamities and of the corruption of governments" and determined "to set forth in a solemn declaration the natural, unalienable, and sacred rights of man"...

What a great quiz, Tulipe (even though I scored miserably!
)
My birthday is on Bastille Day, though, so can I have bonus points???
1Martini, I officially grant you perfect score because you have an amazing birthday...
2Good grief. I failed miserably!
3
Thanks, sweetie!
4My dream is to come to France one year for my birthday...
Ok, that's lame, I did my own quizz because I wanted to see how well you fared... Now I can see the results, and frankly, it's not bad at all ! Au contraire !
Martini, you're welcome in my house. ANytime !
5
Tulipe....I will let you know when I am coming!
Could I get a flight out today.......
6I don't need a test to tell me I know nothing about France!
7I'm exhausted from that
Why do you have so many people in the lower house? We don't have that many.
8Oh man! I learned about the French Senate when I was in high school - I graduated a year before the terms were shortened! I did not do very well on this quiz!
9oh boy that was tough - thanks though it was interesting!
"Liberty, Wine, Vacation"
Can I have extra points just because I love France?
1015/17 -Darn, I missed 7 and 11 - I should have read more carefully. This was a great quiz.
Happiness is not, except in very rare cases, that drops into the mouth like a ripe fruit.Happiness must be,for most men and women,an achievement rather than a gift of the gods, and in this achievement, effort, both inward and outward, must play a great part.
11OMG Bella - I'm seriously impressed.
12I'm all over the place with Louies and anything involving numbers.
Thanks Stef, it's weird. I didn't get into history until I became an adult. I actually love it. I wish I could have appreciated it more in school.

13I'm so ashamed.
14@ Stephley : Why so many people ? You got me on this. I have no idea why we pay so many people to represent us when clearly, they're not doing their job. I remember this law about a month ago that was VERY IMPORTANT for the government. It didn't pass. Why ? Because the opposition voted against it. They had a majority of 15 over 11. That's right. 26 deputies were present that day to vote that very important law.
@ Bellaressa : I'm impressed. Really. Like speechless. Congrats !
@ bluesarahlou, chatondeneige, harmonyfrance, kikidawn : I know that it's a hard test when it's not your own country. But what I find interesting is the history of France and the United States at that time is very entangled and in the end very similar. We helped each other and we had the same goal. From now on, I'm sure you will impress other people with your deep knowledge about the French revolution !!
@ kikidawn : you get all the extra points you want...
15I need to study French history.
