I love pictures from the polls. I don't know why.
Anyways, it's Election Day! It's an off year, but there are still two governorships up for grabs, two House seats, four big cities are voting for mayors, a gay marriage bill in Maine and who knows how many school board memberships on the ballot. Did everyone vote? Anything good on your ballot?

I didn't vote, but there are some interesting races out there! I'm curious to see how things end up in the NY 23 race. I think McDonnell will win in Virginia, I'm more curious about the implications of that win than anything. I'm also interested to see how the New Jersey gubernatorial race shapes up and whether Annise Parker gets election in Houston. (Which would show that Texas isn't as backwards as some people would like to believe.) (And yes, I know Texas is a big state and the political climate in the cities varies pretty widely from the political climate in the smaller towns.)
1Oh, and the reason I didn't vote is because I'm in D.C. and there's nothing on the ballot here.
2The losing party in the presidential election often does well in the next vote, so I'm not expecting to be surprised. I'm not sure victories this time send any important signal about next year though.
3I voted. Nothing exciting on the ballot though.
4I didn't vote because I'm dumb and thought I'd re-registered when I moved but I didn't because I'm dumb, and I couldn't just go vote in my old neighborhood...it's a long story and I'm super annoyed at myself. Luckily we only had one measure to vote on.
5We've got nothing this time.
